73. Enquiry into claims to hold free from revenue as against Government
The Settlement-officer shall investigate all claims against the Government to hold land free from revenue or at less than a full assessment, or to receive the whole or part of the land-revenue assessed on land which is not free from revenue.
Power of Chief Commissioner to make rules.—The Chief Commissioner may, with the previous sanction of the Governor General in Council, make rules determining the principles by which the Settle-ment-officer shall be guided in the disposal of claims coming under this section.
