9. Penalty
9. Penalty.---(1) If any person contravenes or fails to comply with any provision of this Act or of any scheme framed thereunder, he shall be liable to penalty which shall not be less than five thousand rupees but which may extend to fifty thousand rupees.
(2)
Where any person continues contravention under sub-section (1), he shall be liable to an additional penalty of ten thousand rupees for every day during which such contravention continues subject to a maximum of ten lakh rupees.
